THE JOB DESCRIPTION

The job available is for an experienced and highly skilled Field Service Technician, primarily for our industrial system support (installation and repair). The person will mainly work on CO2 and Fiber Lasers.

Although the Service Technician will be based at his/her home, it will be expected of the person to travel to the customers’ sites. The sites are mostly in Ontario but occasional trips to other provinces, the USA and Italy might also be necessary.

In addition, it will be expected from the Technician to sporadically help with the production and repair of IoT devices.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, EXPERTISE and LANGUAGE:

General:

A proven safety mindset is required.
The person has to enjoy working on Electro / Mechanical equipment.
A self-motivated and energetic person with a desire to serve the customer is needed.
We’re looking for a person with proven strong customer service skills.
The ability to work independently with minimal supervision is essential.
The person must be highly organized and accustomed to a fast-paced work schedule.
Confidentiality has always to be guaranteed and the Technician should be able to use discretion regarding business information.

Specific specialized skills, knowledge and expertise:

As we have customers with needs in various fields, the Technician must have ALL of the following:

Experience with troubleshooting Electrical / Mechanical systems.
A clear understanding and ability to use hand tools.
Experience with Prima Power systems: Platino HS, Platino Fiber, Syncrono CO2, and Syncrono Fiber.
Experience in troubleshooting and programming CNC control Prima P9000L, P20L and P30L.
Working knowledge of CO2 Lasers Convergent CP4000, CV4000 and CV5000

Language proficiency:

The Technician will often need to communicate by email and phone with the Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) to coordinate installation and receive remote support.
As we frequently make use of Italian OEMs, it is required that the candidate must be able to handle written and verbal communication in Italian.
It would be ideal if the candidate is an Italian native speaker.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

2 or 4-year college degree, technical school degree, or related experience.
5 years of experience related to Prima Power Laser Systems (installation and service).
Proficiency in both English and Italian languages.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week

Schedule: Monday to Friday
